From children’s books to lifestyle products, toys and gifts, Parragon’s products have created inspiration and a lifelong love of learning and play for many of today’s children. To extend their distribution channels they have increasingly turned to large retailers such as Asda and Tesco as outlets for selling their titles. Marks & Spencer were next on their wish list.

What Parragon wanted

As long ago as 1992, Parragon shifted their focus through a trial bargain book table placed at Asda’s grocery store in Nuneaton. The trial was a success, and has been rolling out ever since. In order to further extend their strategy, Parragon Books asked Quantum 4 to help them create a series of stands for the display of their First Readers products at M&S.

What Q4 created

We took the original concept and developed a mock shop within a children’s shop environment. Our retail fixture design capabilities meant that we were able to create an area that appealed to and inspired young people to become involved with books as educational products.

What we achieved

Q4 were able to translate the concept by modelling our ideas on the way current branded book displays are devised in the UK high street. For children at M&S, it was like walking into a shop specially created for them.
