It’s frustrating when you only have a few items in your basket and the person in front of you has a month’s worth of shopping to contend with. Tesco asked Quantum 4 to help them devise a new tillpoint checkout facility that could operate within the tobacco concession area, as a speedier alternative for customers.

What Tesco wanted

Tesco needed a design development prototype that would fit into their corporate style. The system had to represent value engineering, with sustainable construction techniques to withstand wear and tear in a busy location.

What Q4 created

Our retail experience came into play here, with a new system that could be incorporated into a small footprint at busy Tesco stores. Our design incorporated crisp graphic panels behind practical cashtill counters and racking facilities for those all-important impulse purchases.

What we achieved

Following a successful launch trialled across five sites, we tendered and won the production, installation and management of the scheme across Tesco’s top twenty stores.
