Nespresso Brandhaus

Our relationship

Our technical design expertise led Nespresso to first engage us in reviewing their complex range of premium product demonstration units. We value engineered and enhanced the suite of fixtures, producing detailed specification packs which enabled Nespresso to carry out an accurate tender process and select a roll-out partner. Through that first project, Nespresso became familiar with our proven sustainable design track record and engaged us to develop the custom fixtures for their high-profile sustainability-focused Vienna flagship.

Our role

We were engaged to work with Nespresso, their architects and chosen local manufacturer, to develop the custom fixtures and furniture through our Quantum Zero methodology, to achieve the highest standards of sustainability from a concept that was already determined. Nespresso recognised the benefit of our Quantum Zero method drawing from the same BREEAM data used to evaluate the historic building in which the store is located.

Collaborating with the other stakeholders, we began by carrying out a deep review of the selected materials palette, recommending alternative materials where needed. We independently developed the fixtures into a technical specification pack which controls all aspects of manufacture affecting sustainability, while allowing Nespresso’s chosen manufacture the flexibility to construct fixtures to suit their factory.

The result

Being relatively new to Nespresso, our involvement hadn’t been considered at the beginning of the project. Working closely with the other parties, we found time for the process and delivered on-schedule with all items achieving the target Quantum Zero grade A.

“For the new flagship concept, Nespresso has collaborated with retail sustainability experts, Quantum4, to ensure sustainable furniture design”.
