It’s amazing to realise that the Boots No7 brand was established way back in 1935 – they have been helping women look and feel their best for over 80 years. With advances in skincare and makeup technology (products like anti-ageing serums for instance), there’s an important educational aspect to their stores these days. They asked Quantum 4 to devise suitable fixtures for their Showcase Service Bars.
What Boots wanted
Boots asked us to create an in-store service bar as an integral element of the No7 Showcase. Our fixtures had to be capable of displaying and demonstrating a complex product environment, incorporating nails, eyebrows and make-up products. They asked for a premium look, but with cost-effective use of materials in all areas that weren’t visible to customers.
What Q4 created
We applied our sustainable design experience to this prestigious brief. We ensured that equipment lifespan was extended by future-proofing the design to accommodate new products; we guaranteed lower energy consumption by using LED lighting; we incorporated recycled materials and a recyclable glass counter top; and we made sure that the scheme was fully de-constructible to aid re-use or recycling at the end of its lifespan.
What we achieved
We carried out prototyping and successfully completed five stores, including the supply of a tender pack for use in rolling out to a further 40 stores across the country.
